STREET N’ SPORTS : Salut, comment ça va ?
SALVATORE ESPOSITO : Je vais bien merci, je vais même vraiment bien. Même si je suis très occupé avec beaucoup de travail et de projets en cours, je suis très heureux en ce moment.
SNS: As-tu toujours voulu être acteur ?
SE : Absolument ! J’ai toujours rêvé de l’être depuis que je suis petit garçon. Avec beaucoup de travail et de sacrifice de ma famille, nous avons pu réaliser ce rêve. Même s’il y a encore beaucoup à faire !
SNS : Tu as fait tes débuts à la télévision italienne en 2013 dans « IL CLAN DEI CAMORRISTI » au côté de Stefano Accorsi, peux-tu nous en parler ?
SE : C’était ma première vraie expérience professionnelle, c’était un petit rôle mais j’ai eu la chance de travailler avec plusieurs grands acteurs et j’ai appris tant de choses à leur contact ! Stefano Accorsi est un acteur talentueux et une sacrée personnalité aussi.
SNS : Dans la série « GOMORRA », tu interprètes le rôle de Genny Savastano, un enfant d’une vingtaine d’année pourri, gâté et héritier du clan dirigé par son père, et-ce que ce rôle a été difficile à incarner ?
SE : Je peux dire effectivement que ce n’était pas facile du tout mais j’ai toujours été attiré par la difficulté ! Je pense qu’une carrière d’acteur doit être réalisée en recherchant constamment les défis. Le personnage de Genny est probablement l’un des plus complexes du cinéma italien et en tant qu’acteur, j’ai été très honoré que Stefano Sollima, le réalisateur, m’ait choisi pour ce rôle.
SNS : Jusqu’à présent, tu as joué des rôles uniquement pour la télévision, mais envisages tu un jour de devenir acteur pour le cinéma ?
SE : Je pense que « Gomorra » est bien plus un film dramatique qu’une simple série télé ! La qualité de la série se hisse au niveau de bien des films que nous avons eu pour habitude de regarder au cinéma ces dernières années. Cela dit, j’aimerais vraiment travailler en tant qu’acteur de cinéma, même à l’étranger, pour montrer au monde que les acteurs italiens ont encore quelque chose à dire dans le show business international.
SNS : Avec quel acteur aimerais-tu travailler ? et avec quel réalisateur ?
SE : Comme je le disais précédemment, j’adore les challenges difficiles. J’aimerais travailler avec de grands acteurs et producteurs internationaux pour arrive à comprendre et prouver à moi-même ce que je vaux.
SNS : Y’a-t-il un acteur français que tu admires ?
SE : Il y en a. J’aime vraiment Jean Dujardin, Marion Cotillard, Francois Cluzet, Jean Reno et Gerard Depardieu.
SNS : Que pouvons-nous te souhaiter pour la suite ?
SE : Vous pouvez me souhaiter de travailler, je l’espère un jour, avec les grands acteurs que j’ai mentionnés auparavant !
SNS : Un dernier mot pour notre magazine ?
SE : Je suis si heureux que les français aient aimé Gomorra et d’avoir contribué à son succès en France, et surtout qu’ils aient apprécié le travail que j’ai fait avec Genny Savastano. Merci beaucoup !!!

SALVATORE ESPOSITO : I am fine, thanks. I am really fine. I am so busy with lots of work and projects, but I am very happy in this period.
SNS : Have you always wanted to become an actor?
SE : Absolutely! I have been dreaming of it since I was a little boy. With hard work and with many sacrifices of my family all we succeeded in realizing this dream. Even if there is so much to do yet!
SNS : You have done your beginnings on Italian television in 2013 in « IL CLAN DEI CAMORRISTI » with Stefano Accorsi, can you talk a bit more about this?
SE : It was my true first work experience, it was a small part but I had the chance to work with many great actors and I learnt so many stuff from them! Stefano Accorsi is a talented actor and a great person too.
SNS : In the « GOMORRA » series, you play the role of Genny Savastano, a child of about twenty years, rotten, spoiled and heir to the clan led by his father, this role has been difficult to play?
SE : I can firmly say that it was not easy at all, but I have never been attracted from easy stuff! I think that an actor’s career must be done of a constant research of hedges to ace. Maybe Genny is one of the most complex carachter of Italian filmography and, as an actor, I was so honoured that Stefano Sollima, the director, has chosen me for this part.
SNS : Today, you’ve only played roles for television, but do you see one day become a movie actor?
SE : I think that « Gomorra » serie is a movie drama more than a tv serie! The quality of the serie is much more high-level than many movies we used to watch in cinemas in the last years. By the way, I would really like to work as movie actor, even abroad, to show to the world that Italian actors have still something to say in the worldwide show business.
SNS : An actor you would like to work with, one day? and a director?
SE : As i said before, I love difficult challenges. I would like to work with big international actors and directors to understand and prove to myself how much I worth.
SNS : Is there a French actor you admire?
SE : There is. I really love Jean Dujardin, Marion Cotillard, Francois Cluzet, Jean Reno and Gerard Depardieu.
SNS : What can we wish you for the future?
SE : You can wish me to work, maybe one day, with the great actors I mentioned before!
